Emily Bett Rickards born July 24, 1991 is a Canadian actor, best known for her role as Felicity Smoak in The CW television series Arrow. Rickards, who was raised within British Columbia, is Canadian. In order to begin her professional career, she began performing in musical theater and dance, in the hopes of later introducing formal acting. Her career path began early, when she graduated from high school and attended Vancouver Film School. Vancouver Film School. There she was enrolled in the Acting Essentials course. After finishing the program she participated in an open-call audition, which led to an agent for booking. She attended The Alida Vocal Studio in Vancouver. Initially signed as a single-episode guest on the show, her relationship with the show's main character Stephen Amell coupled with positive fan reaction as well as her humorous quips resulted in her first being signed as a co-star on recurring basis for the rest of the first season. She was then signed as a regular co-star during the second season.
