Anna Paquin
Anna Paquin is a Canadian and New Zealand actress. Paquin is a native of Winnipeg was raised in Wellington and made her debut as Flora McGrath when she played the character as Flora in The Piano. She won an Academy Award at the age of 11 years old for Best Actress Supporting Actress. After she responded to an open audition call and was selected for the part, she was cast in the role of Flora McGrath, the daughter of a mute Scottish piano player who moves into New Zealand in mid-19th-century to marry. The actress was just nine, and she had no acting experience. When she was in her teens, the actress moved to America. Paquin was the main character in Fly Away Home in 1996 and had a minor part in the film as Jane Eyre in the film when she was just a young child. Paquin played Frankie Addams as a child in the TV version of Carson McCullers novel The Member of the Wedding. Paquin played the queen of Spain, in Steven Spielbergs 1997 movie Amistad. She played teenagers on Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000), A Walk on the Moon (2000). She also played the role of a teen girl named Polexia Aphrodisa in Almost Famous (2000).
