Dolly Parton, who was born in Locust Ridge Tenn. on the 19th of January. 19. 1946 to a poor family with 12 kids at one point, realized that she could escape the hardships of her life by using a creative mind. Before learning how to read and write Dolly Parton had already begun to compose her own music. When she got her first guitar at the age of 8, she began to perform at radio stations in Knoxville, Tennessee. That same year, she released her debut album on Gold Band Records an independent small-scale label. While she was popular in the local scene while she was at High School, she knew her dreams were much bigger. The day she graduated from the high school in 1964. Dumb Blonde (1967) and Something Fishy (1968) were the first two albums to chart on Monument Records. Porter Wagoner, a syndicated show on TV at the time was searching for a female singer on his show. Parton was offered the gig in 1967 and signed to RCA Records in 1968 and became a member of with the Grand Ole Opry in 1969. The band split in 1974, when her solo singles like Joshua Coat of Many Colors & Jolene outsold the collaborations. Parton recorded "I will Always Be Loving You" in support of Wagoner soon after their split. It was ranked No. For the first time, in 1974.
