Despacito was released by Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi in the year 2017 and was the number one streamed track in just 6 months. The single Despacito, which combines reggaeton with pop music has not just brought fresh focus to reggaeton, but also brought more attention to Latin music. In Billboard's Top 100 in 2015 had two songs mostly of Spanish language, while in 2016 there were four. The Despacito album reached its peak popularity in 2017, 19 songs mainly made in Spanish reached at the very top of 100. It climbed to 41 by 2020. Justin Bieber remixed Despacito 2017 as a bilingual rendition. Then, various artistes collaborated with Reggaeton's biggest stars like Drake and Bad Bunny with MIA (2018), Madonna and Maluma together with Medellin 2019. The gradual mainstreaming of reggaeton became an issue for some artists in the year 2020. Rauw alejandro and a younger generation wanted to preserve the style. The incorporation of elements from electronic dance music and various other genres was a typical procedure.
