The singer also swept all over the world through her music. Swift has shed her roots in the country as if she was shedding skins for second purposes, revealing herself to be one of the best pop singers and songwriters in her generation. She has the ability to harness the current zeitgeist and make it her personal. The skills she displayed were apparent on her early hits including the Neo-Tribute Tim McGraw but her second album 2008's Fearless showed a writer discovering the person she really was, and, in doing so, gaining an audience of mass. The album ended up with a lot of appeal not just within the U.S. where it racked up six platinum singles on the strength of the Top Ten hits Love Story and the hit single You Belong with Me but throughout the world performing particularly well with Canada, the U.K. Canada and Australia. Swift soared to the top of stardom with Speak Now. The next three albums she released, Red (2012) 1989 (2004) and Reputation (2017) Reputation (2017), Swift's popularity grew and she found herself in a music scene where it was clear that she deserved to be. When she reduced her sound by releasing stripped-down albums like 2020, folklore, and Evermore but she was still in the top spot. This position was maintained through re-recordings of her previous catalog, as in Midnights the synth-based chart-topper 2022 album.
