Her parents are Harvey Welker who is Native American and Julie Welker who is African-American. Her father is an engineering while her mother is a realtor. Walker received her schooling in the Germantown Friends School located in Philadelphia's Germantown area where she graduated in 1994. She attended Harvard College, where she obtained a Bachelors in Arts degree. Welker married John Hughes in Philadelphia, who was an acclaimed marketing director. The couple have two daughters. The couple began a relationship in 2014 when they began to date. John, her husband is a year younger than her. They decided to bring their relationship to a higher step because everything was getting so good. The 4th of March, 2017, they tied the knot. The wedding was held at the city of Philadelphia Pennsylvania. At the Hyatt The Hyatt, they had a huge wedding. A few close relatives and friends were invited.
